I caught this guy Saturday under a bobber with a mud minnow and thought it was a Pompano at the time. I have looked up juvenile Pompano and it does not seem to be. What is it?

That was one of my original thoughts as well but they have a black spot near their gills on almost every picture I’ve seen on the Google
