I don’t see any posts so doubt that there is much shrimping activity yet but I am wondering, when do shrimp typically show up in the creeks? Also, is it likely that there are any shrimp in the really deep holes, the ones that typically hold shrimp after the creek shrimp are gone? Obviously I am champing at the bit to throw the net again!
First of June you should find shrimp at low tide in the creeks and on the mud flats. 3/8 mesh net will work, but these shrimp are typically just big enough to put on a hook. Called “sweet” shrimp by the locals are very tender and great bait for all inshore fish. Good luck!

Thanks Capt. Buddy. I was afraid the little guys might not arrive until around June. Any input on shrimp hanging out in deep holes now or before early June? I have a large “taped” net. Thanks again.
1st of June you should find plenty of “brown” shrimp holding at low tide in creeks with deep holes.

Last summer I caught a few shrimp while casting for fish bait. Ended up cutting the trip short because the youngins were too hot. Anyway the shrimp were small but I decided to keep and saute them in some Old Bay, garlic powder, and butter. Best shrimp I ever had BY FAR.
I plan to do the same this year. They were small and a pain since I cooked them heads on but they were amazing. I’ll let you know how it goes.
