Where are the mullet?

We all know the peanut menhaden are all over. Has anyone found good schools of mullet in the Harbor or ICW?

I have netted plenty of menhadon in Shem Creek and the Harbor.

I havent been able to fish much lately but the spot i caught mullet all last year only produced a few the last two times. a few fingers and a few big ones. However, I’ve seen a few big schools while working at the marinas(ripley, city and patriots). i dont think they are real thick yet but like i said, my fishing has been very limited lately. I have been able to catch hadens 50-100 a cast on the past few trips though. I have noticed over the years, that in quite a few instances, when the fish are feeding on finger mullet, they will hit top water too:smiley: I noticed this because when you float a live mullet on a cork near the grass the fish like to hit when the mullet is swimming around breaking the surface. I know the bait probably sees or notices the red sitting down there sometimes and stays up top,but i know that sometimes they just swim near the top. Not that its 100 percent but just keep it in mind. The past two trips when my four or five fingers where gone, and i got to a place i wanted to float a live finger by the grass, i have thrown top water and been successful.
