Last week we were out boating around wound up at shem for a while, there I saw a kayak with pedles, I assume they were attached to a prop, I would like to take a look at one for fishing seems It would be great for keeping my hands free.
Anyone here know what I saw a name or website or a good dealer?
Hobie Mirage? I think they put that peddle drive on a few different models now.
I saw one advertised on Hank Parkers fishing show on Sunday, but I can’t remember who made it. It looked pretty cool.

Those yaks are made by Hobie, they make several fishing yaks with the mirage drive. like anything, it has its advantages and disadvantages but all in all, its a good system.

I’ve a Hobie outfitter (tandem mirage drive). Has been reliable and durable to date. Care must be taken not force drive if fin caught in mud while in thin water around creeks. Great to troll or cast from. I’ll often stand as its initial stability is good. Will also pole in flats while standing. Wish it had reverse (haha) as turning circle with rudder and drive is only fair-I’ll break out paddle for rapid short turn. Drive cable and chains seem to be quailty stainless as I see no corrosion with frequent saltwater usage.
