Been hearing/reading about catching reds on the fly in pawleys. I live in Myrtle, so not a long drive to catch some fish. I fly fish and fish from my kayak. I read I can put in on either side of the incoming and outgoing roads of pawleys but nowhere mentions what to do with my truck once i launch the yak. Just wondering where to park, or if i can just park on the side of the road. Dont want to tick off any locals, but would love to get on some fish. This weekend I plan on heading that way so any advice/info would be awesome. Seems the general notion is that the north end is the better spot so I guess parking off SC46 would be best bet.
If you head onto Pawleys on the North Causeway, you’ll see lots of parking by the bridge.
I haven’t heard about the Reds on the fly in Pawleys.

I bought a book wile in charleston a few weekends back at the charlston angler called “top 9 redfish locations in SC” and it has a whole chapter on the area. Interviews a few guides who guide elsewhere but reside in Pawleys. Supposed to be a good fishery simply because of its difficulty to access. Unless you put in a small craft of wade its a good ride by boat from the two closets inlets (murrels and G-town). Its worth a shot. Not a lot of options on the fly coming out of Myrtle beach.
Park on the side of the road like all of the beachgoer’s do and portage the yak. Don’t use the parking at the ramps if you don’t have a boat/trailer to park. Make sure you don’t park in a no parking zon and make sure your tires are over the white line or you’ll get a ticket. The north island has more parking available. If you get there early enough you can park in the south end parking lot and launch from there.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.
