where did the trout go?

we were finding them consistently til about 10 days ago with plastic shrimp-any brand. then almost like a light switch they are off. any thots on have they moved, changed feeding, thinkin bout women fish or other ideas. it was a great year and i dont want it to be over. we usually lose them when it gets cold but that hasnt happened.

Friend of mine caught close to 50 on the Wando Wed & Thursday…said he kept around 20, so I assumed they were mostly good sized fish.

ill keep looking. weve been moving a half mile up and down to locate them so i will move up the creek more to see if they are toward the grass. there must be more food on the oysters, but the ones i kept have all had empty guts and almost all males.

he’s pretty white for a fly guy

hey hutch, i lost them before christmas down here, was doing well (for my low standards) with rubber shrimps too… grubs for reds, but haven’t seen a trout since- sounds like they’re turning back on from reports. have seen lots of silversides on top when it’s calm, and starting to see schools of little tiny tinsel mullet too.

i found (but didn’t land) a couple very squirrely over slot reds with hard plastic yesterday, the weather has them excited. i’m pretty excited about this coming year’s fishing based on our weather so far too.

good fishing man… i miss your walk-to flounder spot (very obliging redfish on rubber shrimp last time i was up there in dec).

Trout ate just fine the past 2 days.
Zmams with pro cure and a 1/2 oz flutter hook.

4-8’ of water.

Good sized males. I’d like to see some more roes caught, but its nice to be catching trout in february.

Fish are too valuable to be caught only once.

i need to go buy a pair of Zmams.

that answers your question, hutch- bunch of big dude trout can’t be wrong. one-track…
