Haven’t seen hide nor scale of a red in the creek since early April…even the trout are slowing down.
It’s done for the year. Put the boat in the yard and stay home.
I don’t think I 'on would like it if I took their 100 foot floating dock and put it in my yard. On a more serious note - I am fairly new to fishing reds and trout so are the slot reds only active in the spring in creeks? Do they migrate into deeper waters?
The reds and trout are in the creeks year round. The really big reds move out into the ocean as they reach sexual maturity and become breeders. Spring can be very good at times, but very challenging some days. Whatever you’re doing, try something different. Crabs and cut mullet work well for reds for now.
