I don’t really know during this cold weather, but as the weather warms up. I’d drive down and throw in at Limehouse Bridge Boat landing. I fished it a lot during the summer and fall and the fishing is great and you don’t have to worry too much about the tides, all have been pretty effective there. Easy, safe parking and not a long paddle to decent fishing. If you want some exact spots shoot me an email.

I don’t know where Fort Gordon is. If considering Limehouse bridge, then also consider Folly River (there’s public launch on Folly Road) or Folly Creek via Bowen’s Island launch (they may charge $1.00). Lots of smaller feeder creeks off these two. Look at Wikimapia to see how these all connect.

Fort Gordon is located in Augusta, GA right on the SC/GA state line, Savannah is closer but Charleston is quicker to get to, 2 1/2 hrs rather than 31/2. Of course im gonna wait till it warms up expecially since i am unfamiliar with that area, thanks for the help, im not sure where the limehouse house bridge landing is though, im sure ill find it some how, thanks guys

Limehouse bridge is on Stono River. Turn RIGHT on Main Road as approaching West Ashley/Charleston from south. See Charleston County parks website:www.ccprc.com.

Pick yourself up a few good maps of the region, particularly the inter coastal water way, anywhere along the southeast coast that you can find a good tidal exchange you’ll find fish. If you are looking for Reds find the areas with good grass flats and bars adjucent to major creeks, rivers and inlets. The fish use these exchanges just like we use sidewalks and roads. You can’t go wrong in my book anywhere from Hilton Head to Charleston. If you need any help with the Hilton Head area Bay Street Outfitters is a good place to start. There are also some really good local shop in the greater Charleston area. Best of luck!

i’ve never fished down there, so i can’t give ya any specific spots. the general info the guy above me gave is pretty good…only thing i would add is that try fishing wide flats on low tide next to the inlets, thats where i’ve found the best sightfishing opportunities to be when its too cold (like now) for them to be tailing up in the grass (thats when the summer gets fun)

but if you ever come up to charleston (where the fishings dang good), i’ll give you exact spots depending on the time of year where you’ll catch redfish

least i can do for somebody sacrificing for all of us
