Where to Live Near Daniel Is., Mt. Plsnt or N Chas

Can anyone help with this. I swear I’m not asking for your super secret honey hole.

My son is a Computer Science senior at Clemson and has an internship lined up at BlackBaud on Daniel Island for the summer. We’re looking for a place for him to live without breaking the bank but we want a decent place that’s clean and safe. Since he can’t use a year long lease that counts out a lot of places.

Optimally, we’d like something furnished so we don’t have to do the double move. Something on the north end of Mt. P or out of N. Charleston or even Hanahan would be great to save him commute effort.

My first suggestion to him was something with a dock and boat lift so I could visit while he works - lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I work at Benefitfocus which is right down the street from Blackbaud. I live in Mt. Pleasant which is a way easier commute than coming from the north Charleston area. The reason i say this is the traffic is much worse coming from North Charleston in the morning and way worse going to North Charleston in the afternoon!

Thanks for the tip. We had thought about the traffic and I figured it would be better to be in mt. P.

We have a couple of good options but it’s tough to find short term rentals w/o spending an arm and leg.

There are condo’s for rent out on Clements Ferry road that are close to downtown DI and run 9-1200 per month -Beresford Commons. Decent sized units, pool, fairly quiet. We stayed there for a year with no issues. 10 min to work.

And there are Condo’s for rent right across from Daniel Island Grill on mainstreet downtown. My co-worker did a month to month for less than 1k. 5 min to work and right in the middle of town.
