Where were the Hoos?

Trolled around the banks and pushed out to 240’ in search of a Who or two…could not find em’. Caught a Skippy & a couple Albies on the troll and called that around 10:30…went to work bottom fishing…rods bent the rest of the day but not much to show for it…the ledges were lit up everywhere…but AJ’s so thick they were tiring us out…kept moving but same story…and some really big Vermillions out there…they were thick & a couple were caught on 5oz butterfly jigs…we got rocked up a few times & put one good Scamp in the box…and a few other legal bottom dwellers… was it worth it???

You betcha… we didn’t fill the cooler with meat… but the weather was great, beer ice cold, fried chicken was dry, and the boys laughed all day…

Hard to know where they are when no one been fishing much. 2 months back the hoos were in 300-350ft for a few weeks cause all the bait was stacked there. Seems like the water moved all around after the hurricane. Dirty water still from most reports ive heard

Our crew reported they were MIA as well.

the water was dirty…and the temp breaks we had noted were not there…water was pretty steady 76 degrees from 130’ out to 240’

Found 3 hoo, biggest 60lbs, and a couple blackfin on the Scarp
