Hey friends. Can somebody tell me the best way to get to Fort Sumter area from Folly River area or should I just drive to the other side of Charleston and put in Shem Creek…

There is a way through Clark Sound that is passable at almost all tide stages but is for local knowledge expert level only. Been a while since I have done it so I hesitate to provide specific instructions.
Wapoo would be easiest/fastest if a matter of where you put in. If you need to go from Folly, first question is do you know how to get to Lighthouse Inlet area from Folly River or Folly Creek? If you do, from there take Ft Johnson Creek and connect over to Schooner Creek, you should be able to see all of this on Google Maps earth view. As typical, there are some areas that run shallow and narrow so go slow thru Ft Johnson Cr. As you exit Schooner Creek and into what appears to be large open bay/sound area before the harbor, stay close to back side of Morris Island through there. Along the “beachy” area of backside tip of Morris, you need to be very close to shore. You will enter harbor right at Ft Sumter.
Appreciate you guys reaching out with helpful info…
If you are wanting to go out by Sumpter I would suggest putting in at Wappoo. Went fishing with a friend a couple of years ago and we ended up playing in the mud in Clark sound and Schooner creek. That area has changed so much in the last few years.

Remleys Point is my go to drop in. About 5 min out from the Ft. on a calm day and also give you access to the wando should the harbor be too choppy to navigate. Landing can get rather crowded though in the late morning/afternoon.

you go through Ft. Johnson Creek or Govt Cut? I thought Ft. Johnson ended up dumping into that huge mud flat that would be on your right if you went Govt Cut towards Schooner Creek?
