went to southwest banks on sunday to start trolin south, had 4 dolphin in the boat when one of the twins died on me around 10:30. decided to start headin back since it would be a long ride going about 9 mph’s at 3000 rpms with only 1 250 still kicken, so we slowed it down and figured we’d troll to the ledge. Picked up a few more dophin 8 total
it got pretty nasty the couple hours before we broke dewees.
took about 6-7 hours to get back, luckily we had plenty of “cool aids” for the ride home
thanks to Sea Snake for calling people waitin on us wondering where we were
must of been the full moon sunday,we lost the port waterpump, lucky for us we were only 11,5 mile from the rocks…
what happen to your motor…
good job on still catching fish…
Gut Wrench standing by on 68…
Just a tip after I been thru the same thing except I have a single and water pump took a dive at the worst time. You can hook up your raw water wash to the flush connector and you can bypass the water pump all together. Just thought I would pass it along.
that’s ■■■■ good information to have right there.

You are not suppose to flush your engine this way but in an emergency i guess it would be okay. I would like to hear Chris V's take on this.

That sounds like one fine bit of AA enginuity right there, and a darn sight better than blowing a motor or calling SeaTow…
If the fish won’t bite, strap on a tank go down and make em!

You are not suppose to run engine while it is hooked up to the hose adaptor. At least not Yamaha.

My buddy tried that once and you better have a good high speed pick up or else it’s not enough water running through your block. Just make sure you have a very strong pee stream when attemping this or else stop and disconnect
its always better to have a good strong stream… thats a solid emergency tip dude, thanks…
Common sense is an amazing thing!! Wish I had some…
4-6 beats 9-5 any day
Now THAT is good advice. I’ve got a Johnson 2-stroke on my 21’ cc which I believe allows for flushing while running w/ the hose attachment. Got my raw water washdown right there and it cranks pretty good. I don’t see why this emergency procedure wouldn’t work. I’m filing this away into my long term memory under “Southern Ingenuity”.

I believe you shouldn’t run the motor only because your water pump running “dry” but if its torn up anyway …?
