How and when can I catch whiting inshore? Would love to cook some up. Thanks.
Fish a channel close to a inlet. We have whiting year round just the numbers thin out and they really slow down in the winter.
Ok so heavier numbers in the summer? Shrimp on bottom or off bottom?
The double rig with small hooks and small pieces of fresh peeled shrimp or mullet
How bout the croaker? I haven’t caught any in years but I mostly use artificials now. I haven’t heard the surf guys say anything about them either.
Thanks 40inchreds…so will I do better near an inlet like Capers, closer to ocean or will a large inlet like in the ICW suffice?
Right now is red, flounder and trout time! I’ve got several spots that produce whiting as stated using a double rig with peeled shrimp with #1 hook. Have used red worms and if you can get them sand fleas work great.
Look for boats in the middle of a channel with several rods out the back and mark the spot. More of a summer fish.
