Came down this weekend past from Greenville to get me some saltwater therapy in. When i say the winds were up and the water was choppy indeed it was. So i stuck mainly to the back rivers and did a little whiting fishing. I hit a few favorite holes of mines and found a new one that brought me the biggest whiting i have ever seen. Some people saw it and was like dang i thought it was a small red at first, lol. I hit my last spot uo and wore out the whiting till the sun went down.
Unfortunately my fishing trip stopped cause i had to help a stranded sailboat out the folly. I pulled him as far as i could till he got stuck again and it was no getting him unstuck this time. So the guy was actually doing a romantic sailboat cruise for a couple in which you see went bad. So he asked me to take them to the marina while he wait till SeaTow came and got him back to running. My trip ended but i was happy to help someone stranded and down…
Hey gonefishing. Good to see another upstate guy getting down there and catching some fish. I am from Anderson and plan to go within the next couple weeks. Got the itch to catch some sheepshead.

If you ain’t the lead dog then the scenery never changes
WOW ; Gonefishing, reeeel nice whiting there and a nice mess of good eating . Good on you for helping others in trouble; good deeds have ways of coming back to you many times over…
Yes they were found in deep holes all over Folly River. Fished mostly back rivers in holes anchored. As far as helping the owner of the sailboat, I feel it’s my duty to help others in need cause so many people have helped me in the past.
Excellent job, gonefishing ! On both the catch and the helping hand. I’ve had a number of trips cut short due to helping a fellow boater…that’s just how I was raised…you never know when the person needing help will be you.
Barbawang the weather got fish up here confused as ever. They were tearing up the crappies and now they slacked off hard. Yesterday i was over schools of fish that people in one of my other upstate post said were stripers and spots and they wouldnt bite nothing…
Rick you are absolutely right…
