I have an 8 ft net I need patched… anybody know how and got some time to work on it?
It is a shame but I believe that is becoming a lost art. I would have loved; hell still would to watch and abserve the master art of net repair.I believe I have read on this forum there may be someone over Johns Island way that may repair and actually make homemade Castnets. Many years ago I had the chance when I lived up Pawleys Island way to learn a little but was working two full time jobs and just never had the time.Regrets
Can you do it yourself, i took some 10lb mono fishing line and tied the holes on my 6 foot net. Its took me an hour or two total but it seems to work well enough.
there is a guy over on Johns Island selling home made nets on CL. I gave him a call… waiting to hear back.
I have repaired with mono, but the easiest method I have used are small cable ties.
I have patched 2 nets using this method with success.
Cheaper than buying a new net.
You can mail it to Tim Wade in FL. He will fix and mail back. That is if the net is worth it.
