We hit the water this am at 10 am, cold but not too bad.
Lost one good fish and marked a lot of fish but they did not seem to be overly hungry. Did manage 1 small striper
Did see another boat catch a good fish.
Quite a few boats on the water though.
The wind picked up around 1 pm and we stayed until 3:30 and tried to stay out of the wind to no avail. Seems like the wind kept changing directions.
We used gizzard shad, blue backs and medium shiners. Both bites were on the shiners, I guess they are closer to the size of threadfin.
May try it again Sunday after church since I still have bait swimming around

I just got in. I fished from 2:30 till 11:15. I caught 9 short, most around 18". I had four lines go down at once and landed two of them. Even though the were short it was still fun. The wind kicked up and switched from sw to more w and the fish shut down. It was not too bad, much warmer than AM.
Those little guys can put up a good fun fight! No skunk in the boat!
Good for you!

Wow,I bet it wuz COLD in the morning…[:0]
I fished the MSC tournament on Murray. It was pretty cold at the ramp. After the water from the first trailer hit the ramp/concrete…it froze before the next trailer could get down it. I picked up some calcium chloride and used most of a 50lb bag on the ramp. It was probably overkill (could have used less), but I didn’t want to take ANY chances with people having traction issues. The $20 spent on that bag was well worth the added insurance of keeping someone’s rig out of the lake. All in all we had a good day on the water. I brought a dual element propane heater on board and cranked it up whenever we were anchored. Caught 4 shorties (3-16" & 1-17") just outside Buffalo Creek in 35’ of water. We saw the ice forming on the line and eyelets as we were reeling in line for most of the day. It was pretty darn cold…the beer cooler with ice in it felt warm!
