Fueled up and got an early start. Got to Bushy and felt the true chill and actually wondered why I got out of that warm bed!!. My reading of the tide chart was backwards. Either way I got to my area and it was bone chilling cold and my thoughts were ( SUN hurry up get above those trees), fish hook up quickly and me getting home or just freeze my fingers off until it warms up.
This BigBoy (25" 6lbs) warmed up the thought of why I left that warm bed. The Challenge!!! Tagged and released and as it warmed I caught 7 Reds 2 trouts. Man was it cold today.

Yours are bigger and brassier than mine [:I] Nice fish catching! I’ve always done great in the winter, but as I get older and it’s 30 degrees outside, I tend to sit by the fire and think of the ones that I used to catch when it was 30 degrees. I admire the desire
Nice catch Fatrat,good for you braving the Temp. I caught one of my Biggest Flounders ever on Christmas day. I remember when working in Litchfield on the Waccamaw House when they sent us home because it was to cold to work. I went home and hooked the boat up and went fishing" Yes I was a whole lot younger and just a little crazier then " Good fishing to you.
grtlakes nice meeting you. Missed a couple in that hole we met in but had much better success in the river right after you passed me up the third time.
As for CrackerLarry and Sophish, you guys are correct I am getting to ole for this cold weather fishing. But , just can’t help myself. Had a few priorities at the house today and back at it tomorrow morning (Monday)

Fatrat I used to fish 80% by myself then had both knees replaced and have bad Vertgo that comes out of nowhere sometimes.that is why it has been a couple years for me out on the water,just not safe.The river looked just about perfect this morning.I noticed on my way to work.
