for a countertop. we only want a 4 ft long piece , with a sink cutout and installation of the sink. standard (26 inch?) depth .
so many places have a high minimum.
I know there is labor in measuring, then installing it but seems a small piece like this would be less expensive
anyone else had this problem?
What are you getting for prices? Sounds like about a $650-$700 job to me.

Why would it be cheaper, it costs as much to cut a sink out of a 4’ piece as it does 20’ of countertop. Not to mention it is a hassle to do the little jobs because there just isn’t any room for a profit. You still have to finish and polish the edges as well. Sounds like an $800 or better job.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I have a piece of granite that might work out for you. It’s solid, no cuts.

There’s a place in awendaw too that does counter tops. Have you looked at any of the habitat stores?

take your own measurements (add for over hang), go to just about any granite shop. Take sink. They will ask you edge profile (flat polish, radius, bevel) for open sides. Tell them where you want your sink (left, right, center). Most all shops will cut this for you (Fab only). You can install this yourself. Nothing to it. few dabs of silicone to hold it in place and slide it in. Install sink, use and enjoy. There could be a little more to it if you are installing an undermount sink. If thats the case, have granite company attach sink to granite for you. Only problem here is that you will not be able to slide granite in place but lift it into place. Depending on what color you go with I would not pay over $350 for something like this.
Call me. I can give you a free estimate…
