who make the best aluminum boat trailer

thinking about replacing my 2004 17 foot galv boat trailer that is rusted. who makes a good trailer in the south east that wont cost me an arm and leg

Charleston trailer made me a custom trailer. I can only say that I think it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. Good people, good service, high quality. Can’t go wrong.

Wesco Trailers is on the south side of Columbia. I’m sure they could make anything you’d need. http://www.wescotrailers.net/store/

Unfortunately, Wesco does not sell trailers retail to the public. you have to go through a dealer to have one made. I found this out a few years ago when I was looking for a new trailer for my 16’ Lund. They do sell parts retail though.

Do yourself a favor and go see Rod and/or Maggie at Charleston Trailer. They will show you some of the features of the trailers they make at the shop.
They are next level! My next boat will be purchased w/o a trailer, b/c Charleston Trailer will be making mine. Great people too.

tommy stone, Charleston Trailer, Load rite, and a handful of others will all build you a great trailer at a fair price.
we have started ordering trailers fro load rite and have been very impressed with quality for the price.

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

I like Charleston Trailer, and their products. But the price they quoted me on the last trailer I was needing was absurdly high. No doubt a great trailer, but it’ll cost you an arm and a leg. I talked to probably 15 manufacturers from here to FL to TX and they were top 3 most expensive. McClain and MYCO were the only 2 that were more expensive.

Ended up buying one from Tommy Stone, which is a TNT. Not as nice for sure but also less than 1/2 the price of Charleston Trailer one.

I’ve got a Ramlin and it’s the Best trailer I’ve ever had. Ameritrail’s are also very good.

East Cape EVOx

Charleston trailer quoted 2500 plus tax for 17 and about another 100 for 18. They seem to make a great trailer based on products that they use, but it does seem a little high for a 17 foot boat. I would like to spend less than 2K. Its hell being old and cheap.

you get what you pay for. Under 2 k, need to look used.

Do you want cheep or best??

True you get what you pay for, with a few exceptions. Call Owens and Sons and go down and pick one up. Will be very reasonable for the quality you get. There’s a thousand manufacturers out there, just start calling.

Charleston trailer is local. Better built. Plus they warranty their trailers

Tall Sail Marine

My thought is, if you trailer your boat, what do you spend most of your maintenance $ on? Your trailer. It’s responsible for safely getting your very expensive boat to the landing and back. Why put it on a POS trailer? You get what you pay for.

I was quoted 1700 dollars from charleston trailer 3 years ago and now it’s 2500 dollars. I wish I had bought it then. I just hate to pay 800 dollars in just 3 years. I paid about 500 dollars to keep my trailer road worthy for the last 3 years. Money that was not well spent. Will probably order one from charleston trailer based on quality and local but just hate that I have thrown 500 plus 800 increase away

National trailer in Ocala fl quoted me 1850 for all aluminum trailer. Does any one know any thing about this company

You could have bought a boat 4 years ago and resold it today for what you paid for it

Tall Sail Marine

TNT in Tampa fl is 1990 out the door. How good is your trailer by tnt. Andyb

I would’ve ordered the Owens and Sons if I could have afforded to wait a few weeks. But it was sprung on me that the boat had to be off this rack ASAP (when I thought I still had 3-4 weeks before it needed to be out), and I had to have a trailer today, right now, type of thing. I was even headed out of town and Tommy delivered it to the marina for me. It was a good trailer. No fancy bling aluminum wheels or anything, but a solid trailer. I ended up selling it because that boat was sold off.

If you’re going to order the TNT though, I’d recommend you go buy it from the local guy so you establish a good connection there. He’ll be about the same price as buying one directly from FL.
