Not me today:smiley: I got to the lake at noon, motored up to a favorite lower midlake hole, got out my spoon jigger, and got a limit of 21-25 inch fish. They were caught off the bottom in 37-50 feet. Didn’t want to quit, but it’s the law:angry: Had the boat on the trailer at 2ish. Spoon time is now!
I think we’ll be alright for your event on the 5th. Last weekend of October/ first week of November should be the turnover. Then, we’ll start hammering the rivers when it’s done.
I need to learn how to do that … We got on the lake late, too (1:30ish) … All our bait died (except 6) in transit from the bait shop to the boat … Decided to go out anyway because I needed to run the new trolling motor (which worked great) … found a place to try out the iPilot and slow trolled over fish that refused to bite … Liz ended up catching 2 fish (21 & 22) while the rest of us watched … I have no idea how to use the jigging spoons … I dropped it on their heads several times, but I’m pretty sure I’m working it wrong …
Tim, I’m gonna have to con you to go out on our boat and show us what we’re doing wrong … LOL

Yep … Got your PM … Found them … Can’t get them to bite … At this point I’m pretty sure it’s something I’m doing wrong … Artificials just aren’t my thing … Trekked over a few different places but couldn’t find any topwater action … I really want to get the jigging thing down though … Topwater is easy - all you have to do is find them …
With live bait dropped to 35-40 feet I’m sure you could have picked up a few there. Topwater is more of phenemenon that you can’t really count on. With spoons, it’s a matter of picking the right size and color, varying your jigs, watching your line, and being aware of what your lure is doing.

Uhhhhh yeah … so in other words I’m doing EVERYTHING wrong … I think I need a crash course in how to jig on LM … maybe I’ll get you to speak at the next MSC meeting … …
