who paints outboards?

Thinking of having my Yamaha cowl repainted, possibly the entire motor if the cowl isn’t able to be matched to the lower. Any recommendations?

Lots of auto body shops can do it. I had a guy paint the lower unit before I sold my last boat. I had to buy a pint of paint, but it really made the outboard look better and probably helped sell it. Just make sure they order the factory paint.

That’s what I thought. Just checking in to see if there was anyone specific. Thanks

G-Craft in Awendaw will do it. He redid mine after someone hit it in the locks.

I had a guy who worked behind Lexus do my Yamaha. He has a trailer there and does touch ups. Can’t remember his name. John at Seel’s referred me

There used to be a fellow named Capt. Rick Hiott (sp?) who posted on here a lot, he was a guide, worked out of Charleston Harbor Resort. He re-finished and painting cowlings, did beautiful work.

Don’t know what happened to Rick, haven’t heard anything out of him in a awhile.

I paint at the local Cadillac store here in charleston. It’s a pretty simple project for someone with experience. There seems to be some loyalty to G-Craft here. Let me know if you decide not to move forward with them and I’ll be more than happy to check it out for you. Good luck

We can do it also. Tall Sail Marine. We are off Remount Rd.

Can you fix a 3" crack in the base as well as paint it? When my boat was 2 weeks old a rental boat smashed in to the back of it. Felt bad for the people that paid $185 to rent a boat for 2 hours and in 2 minutes they did $1600 worth of damage to mine. $1600 was the replacement cost for a new one at the time.

Capt Fritz I’m sure it’s something I can take care of. Post a picture and I’ll take a look at it.
