I think I posted this in the wrong place the first time.
Had fun with my Dad on the Stono recently fishing for trout and reds.
The trout were hitting live shrimp hard but not touching anything else we threw out, live, cut or artificials.
Yep.
couple miles below the Burrells Ford Bridge.
That’s a great trail.
Just did the Table Rock to Sassafras hike with my daughter last weekend.
She wants to do the whole thing for her senior project.
The best trout I’ve ever eaten was a 26" cutthroat baked in Tinfoil over coals with coconut oil, dill, garlic and lemon slices. It was on day 9 of an 8 day camping trip at a remote lake in Alaska. The float plane got us on the radio and said the weather was too bad to land and they’d try again the next day. We were all out of food so we went back out fishing and caught the biggest one of the trip.
I found a new respect for freshwater fish after that.
My dad did a similar trip just inside the arctic circle.
Everyday lunch was a fresh fish fried on the shore.
If you got thirsty you just dipped your cup in the lake.

We have videos of each day of a trip I did with our scouts.
We started at Sassafras and ended at Burrells Ford to earn the 50 mile patch. Tons of trout streams.
I will vote in November as every American should. But the real difference that gives me hope for our future is pouring into young men like these.
My daughter and I plan two over nighter’s in October/November. Laurel Valley Access to Bad Creek then Bad Creek to Oconee State Park to finish the trail.
