Who's a techie?

OK, so I bought an Eagle FishElite 640c and ordered the Fishing Hot Spots Pro card, now here’s my problem
How do you navigate this thing?

One thing I wanted was depth and channel indications on the map. The package says I have these but I just can’t find them and a phone call is a lot of “holding on”.

Any volunteers?

Thanks guys
Mike

usually with features like depth and markers, etc…you have to go into the menu and select them. Normally you have the option of turning them off or on.

If it’s there, I can’t find it!
Been sitting in the boat and been in menu and pages aaaaargh
I’m stumped.

Turn it on and anyd use the page button to put it in GPS mode…then hit the menu button and look for Map Data…if its not on that screen hit menu again…arrow down to MapData and hit enter…select the chip u are using in that screen…if that don’t work let me know…I am not at home and just doing it from memory but I can step through it at home…I have a 642c and love it

Found MapData but the chip is not showing up there.

I put the chip in with the writing out and metal strips in back touching metal strips on the 640C but why wouldn’t it show?

Under MapData it says Navionics choices one is Eagle the other is Miami Demo. But FHS Pro East isn’t there.

Thanks for helping. Do you think I put the chip in wrong?

Thanks again
Mike

You have the chip in right.

Unless someone else has any ideas you may have to get a hold of support and verify that the FHSP chip is definately compatable with the 640c. I use a Navionics HotMaps for the lakes and a NauticPath for the coast.

There’s always a chance too that the FHSP chip may be supported, but your unit may need a software upgrade before working with it. Since you just bought it, I wouldn’t think so, but it’s something else you might want to check into.

Where are you looking to use the FHSP chip? It just has lake data doesn’t it?

It was my understanding that inshore was also on these maps!
So, I may have another problem. Dang

Thanks, s/skiff for your help.

Waiting for support to open so, I may have something new later.

Thanks
Mike

I think you may have the wrong chip. My Lowrance unit has the Navionics chip that only covers coastal and offshore. I lose data around Strawberry Landing on the Cooper River.

Well, Thanks yall for the help.
And, yes, I do have the wrong chip.

Now I’m stuck with a Fishing Hot Spots Pro- East chip. Any lookers?
Just kidding but you may see it in the classifieds.

Thanks
Mike

This one will do what you want and there is no setup involved on your 640c. Just install it and it will recognize it.
