Why haven't I been doing this sooner?

Thanks to DolphinD I got a WS Ride 135 before moving down here to the Keys and I gotta say, I like not having to worry about a gas can and a halfassed motor! I’ve been paddling every few days when I get the time off exploring and whatnot. Went out the other night and found 6 lights with fish all on them, cant wait for this moon to wane a little more. Gonna hit em hard with some live shrimp!

I tried to get you on a yak for a year. Welcome to the dark side

I have been trying to talk the husband into buying me a POS boat for the creeks. Maybe I just need a yak…

Where in the Keys are you? I was down there for 12 days last spring yakkin’ around Sugarloaf and KW. Try trolling with a big shallow running plug on a wire leader wherever you are paddling. Pretty sweet to have a three foot cuda smash it when you aren’t paying attention

Girldawg,

Come to the darkside… Once you catch a fish in a Kayak, there is no turning back.

Especially with gasoline topping $5.00 a gallon in the next year or two. Mark my words on this guys.

Those who can’t fish, spend too much on seafood!

Yakonthefly, I agree with you catch a fish in a kayak and it is a done deal you just want more. Especially when it is a fish big enough to move your yak around. That is so much fun. I can’t wait to get back at it.

I’ll be bringing the kayak back up for a couple weeks in May and will be giving you a shout Tommy.

I’m at Summerland Key, right above Sugarloaf and about 20 miles from Key West so it’s pretty clear water and whatnot.

If the weather is as nice tomorrow night as it has been the past week, it may be the night to hit some lights!
