Why Knot 6/16

Left the docks at 4:30 as planned and headed out. I could tell in the harbor the forecast may have been a bit generous. We clear the jettys and we are rocking. Arrived at edisto banks around 7:30. Picked up a peanut there. From there we went to the 380 hole and had some action for a while but could not manage to do better than one more in the boat. They we went to the 226 hole, nada there. Then we went towards SW banks…and thats where we found every sign that says fish are here and if the signs dident help the mahi swimming around the boat should have…again no bits. So we need to salvage our 2 mahi day. Off the the super secret grouper hole. Got there and waved to the boats already there and tried for the grouper…nada. Lots of red porgy. Ok last stop on the way in for some BSB. Got a few and fed a few to a big tiger shark. Rooled in on a nice ocean with exception of the last few miles. I literally only have pictures of the dads and thier kids. So for the day 2 mahi, 8 BSB, 10 Red porgy. It was the first successful trip on the new boat and got some of the kinks worked out so not a bad day. Also wit all the running around we only burned 220 gallons. Not bad at all.

Maybe this next weekend…

Well, you put some mileage on her for sure. Out to EB, up to 380, down to 226, then back up toward SWB… That’s some traveling my friend.
