Why Knot 8-23

Turned 40 on Wednesday and went fishing to celebrate on Thursday. Couldn?t ask for more than that! Day started out with a no show at the dock so a 4 man crew it was. Pushed off right at 6 and headed out. We had a real smooth ride out. We cleared the rocks and my hand never touched the throttles. The plan was to runt to 120 feet and start the high speed troll to the ledge then bottom it up. At 8 we start the high speed troll. In about 20 minutes??fish on. The crew was a well-oiled machine at this and it was awesome to watch.
Rod stayed in the holder and it was winched rather quickly to the boat.

Time to get serious.

Is it a stick?

Wahoo in the boat. (had I not took this picture I would have been useless)

Nice Hoo

Rest of the day was bottom. Grouper would not bite but I loaded up on them a week ago. There was a wicked storm out there with lots of thunder and rain but lucky for us it never got to us. Headed for some BSB and got into them pretty thick. We tried to find the snapper that I had just caught a week ago? no dice. We had a pretty good haul for 4 guys and the Wahoo was the thrill of the day. Even though I didn?t get to tally a snapper or a grouper this was one of my more memorable trips offshore. It was a great crew and a great time and I learned something new.
