Wife's first red..

Hey folks,
Got out on the water with my Wife and Son today for a lil fishing. The weather was awesome and the three of us had a blast. We fished the Port Royal sound and some creeks around Parris Island. Fished the outgoing with floats and muds along the grass in the sound which is where my wife hooked into her first red fish ever. She loved it and of course i was very excited for her. My main goal was to get her on a fish or two today. So i was thrilled. Between us both being active duty Navy its not always easy for the three of us to get out there together. Once the water got to low we headed to sum deep creeks and fished sum areas with fallen trees. Hooked into a few small catch and release specks and I got a nice 24 inch red that put up a nice lil fight i might add. Dang thing bent my hook… We fished bottom with muds. Had a few more hard hits but that was it. Headed in bout an hour in half b4 low. I posted a few pics from our day. Enjoy and Fish On!!!

Great job. Congrats on the first redfish (and second, and trout)! Where’s the boys redfish?! :wink:Step up young lad!

Good deal, I am hoping to convince my wife to tr her hand at fishing this year. So far all she want to do is crab or lay on the deck.

Great pics and family. Congrats

nice catch!

there are some great flats right around/on the southern end of PI. Looks like your boat could probably get on 'em at high tide - if you’re going to be stationed there give it a try when the weather warms up!

What we all want to know is…

Why is your wife being forced to hold your fish and you held hers? Didn’t want her to overshadow you huh? Nice going!
