Wife's new best and channel question for you guys

late report but from Saturday. Finally got to go out and fish and not just cruise and go to restaurants. The best start of the day is, a mobile live bait van is at the landing selling fiddlers, mud minnow, and any frozen bait you want. it was expensive, but hey, that is the cost of convenience.
anyway, we planned to go to 4ki. it’s dead low tide. run through dynamite hole and where the water used to be 7-9’ headed east out the channel until you get to around 23’, is now 2-3’. So now my butt is getting tight. So my question is, has the sand moved that much in 2 years(since i went out that way) or what?
So i ended up turning around with intentions to go out the shipping channel and saw nobody was at our favorite spot on the outside of the south jettie. decided to stop there and didn’t leave since the fish were biting.
caught a lot of under slot sheeps among others, a few keepers that went back in water, and this hog my wife caught. Sheeps were caught on fiddlers, and believe it or not the redfish was caught on frozen shrimp on a rod i usually put cut bait on and throw far off the back.
water temp 72 and clear. And oh yea, a burnt forehead.
