So the sheepshead regs are going away…right? I have never caught sheeps, and only tried once, but I hear it is ALOT easier to catch them with j hooks.
the hell with j hooks use mosquito hooks if they drop the regulation but I haven’t heard anything about them doing such

well I went to the sheepshead meeting, so they said that the sheeps would be taken off the federal regulated list. Im not sure about hooks though.
“In every species of fish I’ve angled for, it is the ones that have got away that thrill me the most, the ones that keep fresh in my memory. So I say it is good to lose fish. If we didn’t, much of the thrill of angling would be gone.” Ray Bergman
From what I understand the removal of sheepshead from the fisheries complex that they have been in will no longer require circle hooks to be used. Keep in mind however that this a legislative action that has to be passed. I don’t think it just automatically changes with the new year. I hope DNR will be a little forgiving of any confusion in the meantime.
