Daughter and I fished the deep hole this morning. TONS of 10" to 12" Blue Cats there. We caught over 150 in a couple of hours fishing small pieces of Shad on bream hooks.
Could not keep bait on larger hooks since the small fish were mauling it to death.
Kept 12 for frying whole for dinner.
She eventually got tired of messing with them though, and we switched to free lining for Gar with 6 pound test, and caught some of them too…
Sounds like a good morning,reminds me of the all you can eat special on fried catfish at the dock restaurant.
Great trip. Sounds like she had fun but might be itching for some larger fish. Ha…

We were having a contest to see who caught the - smallest - fish. She won with a 3 inch long Channel Cat.
That’s cool, keep making those memories.
I haven’t ran into the blue cats there but in the winter I the little channels run by thick at times. Cool little area sketchy landing.
