That’s what my long since deceased fishing mentor allway’s said. Saturday night was dismal. We trolled from one end to the other and all pionts in between. We managed one fat cat at about 30# and she made an awosome stew.
The temp. was 48 degrees when we put in, and 28 when we left and maybe one striper bite that striped drag for about four seconds and then got away. Hey Bluefish, was that you rockin out? Any how fish any front on the way in. Fish a high front two to three days after it arives with a west ,Nwest,North, but light and varible from the east or south ??? See ya on the lake. I should be out there wendsdat night!
Glad i wasn’t the only one braving the cold for nothing , as i mentioned to lynn , i fished till late after all had called it a night , nothing changed, reluctant to go again in the cold but this little storm front may change things just enough.

No that wasn’t me with the tunes / But that was some good old Rock and Roll. I’m in an older Ranger bass boat. My hand held VHS radio battery was dead.
Hydro, Will the fish be hungry Wednesday Night?
I would have been happy with a big cat, on that COLD Saturday night.
It’s hard to say blue. I’m more of a fisherman of convenience than opportunity. (Bills and taxes come first) The best fishing forecaster I had died. It was a bug eyed split tail gold fish. When I would drop some food in his tank and he came up to eat it the fish would bite good. But when he just layed there I wouldn’t catch anything. I actually started checking with him first before I would go. The weather forecast calls for a front coming in tonight with high pressure building in Tuesday through Friday. So best guess is go tonight!
Phinshinphan and I went out on Murray Saturday night. We wanted to fish the upper lake so we went to spinners for bait. should have called first. After making the 20mile ride up lake we found out it was not open at 4:15. So we drove back to Better bait by the dam. They had some nice gizzard shad, one was about 12". We ended up launching out of the dam due to time already lost. His boat would was not running right, no power at all. We could not even get on plane. So we cruised out to the towers and just fished there. I caught one short fish and Phishinphans run of consecutive skunks continue. He may actually be close to a record of some sort. After we got back to the launch we realized one of the spark plug wires were off. Pushed it on and re-launched the boat for a test run. It ran fine once all four cylinders were firing. Definitely was a cold night of fishing.
Sorry to hear about the slow fishin’. I somehow caught a nasty cold and have been down and out the last couple of days. I leave Wednesday for some holiday traveling, so leave some for me. I hope to try it out after I get back and go to work, early December:frowning_face:. Nonetheless, I’ve had a blast on the dew trips I’ve went on and enjoyed the persons I’ve met. On a catfish note, a friend of mine fished off Short Stay the other night, anchored, and caught 6 fish (42,30,30,25,20,15) all on cut menhaden. Good Luck and be careful not to overeat!
