wind/waves disconnect

Guys,
I’m thinking about venturing out to one of the nearshore reefs tomorrow. The wind forecast is less than 10 mph out of the west/southwest. Yet, the wave forecast is 3-4 ft. Does that make sense? I don’t get many days to fish, so I hate to miss a good one. However, I don’t really want to be out there if it really is 3-4 ft seas.

Don’t stay out much past lunch.

Forecast is 3 feet tomorrow because of the north wind blowing today. Waves wont disappear right when the wind stops blowing. Also, it looks like a west wind fills in late tomorrow which should kick the waves up again. Could be a small window in there for nearshore bottom fishing. Would hate to be 50 miles out when the west wind picks up.

Going !!! Down and out, ch. 65

Good luck. Not what I would be heading into. Maybe that is why I have so much time on the hill this year.

Any good out there?

I stayed inshore. It was just me and my son. Didn’t want to chance it. Got some oysters and a few fish. Hopefully we will get a weather window between Christmas and New Years. Next four days looks about the same. 3-4 ft waves.
