WINDY day at Bushy Park

For some reason, I felt like it was Owl, Pooh, and Piglet at Bushy Park this morning experiencing the Blustery Day…

Redfish-Matt, his son, and I ended up with only 2 keeper trout. Matt tossed back a flounder that was less than an inch shy of making it into the cooler. We just had a couple of other bites. Now, if we had a recipe for finger mullet, we would have a feast. Matt’s pretty handy with the cast net!

We put in around 7am, and mainly fished the feeder creeks on the right side of the river. Matt spent half his time ducking Isaac’s casts, and I spent half my time keeping the boat headed in the right direction. Matt had the idea that we take the little boat out to the harbor and do our impression of Forrest Gump & Lt Dan weathering out the storm.

But, you know what? It was STILL a good morning!

Thanks for having us out there, it was nice not to kill my elbows and shoulders rowing around the canoe in the wind lol.

Next trip maybe we should consider something a little saltier

i tried justs down river of yall and got 3 undersized trout and missed several. sounds like a good morning to at least get out and i cant imagine why anyone would have to dodge isaacs casts! great to see kids that young getting started.

I went and bought some of these famous trout tricks today, was going to go out and try them. but as you said it was real windy, kinda glad i didnt sense you didnt do too good. you normally have good reports

Trout Tricks haven’t produced for me the past two weeks (which isn’t a complaint in the least, they’ve been fantastic on all other trips). If you don’t have any luck with them right now, either give all the rest to me  or hang on to them for later. Good stuff.

all trout and many hits i missedd today were on TTs…just gotta find the fish

ill find out how good they are this week after the water clears up, been catching a good bit of flounder on storm wild eye shad at this spot, so ill let yall know how the TT works

ive definately had my share of flounder on em along with reds…however beware the bluefish mafia as they will slice em in half!

tried them out today in this little spot across the street from my house, gonna try them out in the river this sunday

Yep… they work pretty good!
