Not gonna mention chilly but at this old age I guess the cold just goes through me. Fished Saturday and only caught a few cats while anchored down because of the wind. decided to give it a shot Sunday and only got one bite and it was a Flounder.13 15/16" but healthy. Tagged and released and now I need a makeover, running into many of the great guys whom post and the greeting is always wonderful. appreciate all of you whom gave information in the past that now have me catching fish and meeting new fishin friends. Thanks guys (Optiker)

That is a pretty flounder! We too had a windy day yesterday.solid white caps even in the little creeks. Tried to work some docks for some sheeps and the current was rolling hard…caught a few little ones. Drifted some banks for reds and trout…funny thing anchor was drifting with us thanks to the wind:smiley:., but did explore and find some new places to fish on a better day. Nice seeing what a creek really looks like n low tide. As you said…it was cold and windy and my bones were aching too when we got in.
. Saw some younger folks out in a boat and one of the guys had on shorts, tshirt and sandels:flushed:…but said he wasn’t cold. Lol…must have had antifreeze in his blood:smiley:. Still…was nice to be out there…but although I’d never admit this to Donnie……if I would have known it was going to be that nasty…I would have just stayed home and cooked some dinner.
Glad you are catching fish ! Maybe. I will get to meet you one day too and say hello in person! You are right…that’s a added bonus in fishing!
Slow dragging muds and missed a couple. didn’t have none of my flounder rigs and those 1/4 oz leadhead were not giving me a good hook-up but they are in some spots I never thought they would be. This is the first year I’ve had any success with flounders. Now I actually concentrate on catching flounders.

Fatrat, nice to meet you finally! I told you next time I saw you I would say hello. I’m usually in my little Whaler but was out with my buddy Ray (BOSN). That is the first time we have scouted that area, looks like it would be good on a better day/tide, etc. I’m always glad to meet a new friend on the water. For those of you who haven’t met FatRat yet, he’s a true gentleman and one of the friendliest people I have come across on the water. First time I saw him was a month or two ago from a distance and he was working a bank, and I said to my fishing partner “that’s the first time I’ve seen another boat fish this area ‘properly’, i.e. with a trolling motor, casting to structure” turns out it was FatRat, but I didn’t say hello because I wasn’t sure it was him. That won’t happen again Mark my words, FatRat will be regularly posting some big catches here in the very near future.
We ended up with 8 trout and 4 reds for the day, but we worked very hard for them. Most fish were small, but Ray had the daymaker 27" red. I had the prize for smallest fish. See below. A day on the water is always worthwhile
Gotta admire this guy’s spirit. Going after a jerk shad half his size!
