I went for a walk on Folly and from the cul-de-sac to around the been by the light house I saw 3 dead water birds biger than a duck but smaller than a pelican with what looks like similar bite marks from a 6+ ft shark bite on them. A guy on the beach said he caught a 8-9 ft tiger shark a few weeks ago but is now only catching dog sharks. Do you think a shark or dolphins could be doing this.
water temps were in the low 60’s pree this cold push last week… so possibly yes… sand tigers like colder water… a few juvi great whites have been in the area(juvi is still (7-10 feet) dog fish are a general cold water but only get like 4 ft or something on those line and that’s a BIG one usually the magic number is 64-66 holding temps for blatips and such but we are far past the southern run where they migrate unless something odd with the temps kept them in the area…
lots of things are possible water temps really dictate what could be going on or whats around
Sounds like the shark is a serial killer. Killing birds but not eating them? What a douche.

chupacabra
I’ll try to put a pic but I keep getting an error it looks like maybe the birds got away or it was a test bite and didn’t like the feathers.
