Winter wahoo 11/20

Took a gang of my kid’s friends out for their first fishing trip Tuesday. Weather was unbelievably flat and warm for end of November. Got a late start (kids!), caught some bait at the Edisto buoy and started trolling the ledge just south of SW banks. Only trolled for 2 hours but caught 1 skipjack while letting the first line out (red/white cedar plug) and two wahoo (55 and 42 lbs) way back on pink/blue and black/blue switched ballyhoo in 190’ of H2O. Bottom bumped some of the usual suspects - big vermillion, red porgies and tons of triggers, 2 reef donkeys …no grouper. Highlites for the day besides the FAC ocean…queen trigger, sand tilefish and seeing skipjacks catching flying fish out of the air…3 times! First fishing trips don’t get much better than this.

Sounds like a really good day on the ocean. The kids will now expect big fish and calm seas everytime.
