Anyone know about a boat hitting a bouy Saturday morning seen a boat at east bay landing with lots of hull damage around 25 foot.

Passed one heading back in about 5:00am making slow speed.

Hit bouy #12 which the light is out. The boat is damaged but crew is ok.

Hate to hear that. Did you have a chart-plotter that would have shown the buoy locations?

There was a boat that was totaled Friday morning, as well as Saturday morning, both due to unlit markers

we ran the bay early early saturday and had a hard time with the unlit markers even with them showing up on the plotter that stuff is scary!!!

Yeah we put in at south island ferry Friday morning and had to wait for the boat to get off the ramp. I personally don’t see how they made it back in. I could have sat down in the hole below the water line. They said they hit red can going out.

I was told Friday mornings boat had to be beached in order to keep from sinking until Seatow provided assistance?

There are TWO lights out, both at turns in the channel…VERY dangerous…#12 & #7…They have been out for more than a month!!! Hug the RIGHT side (GREEN) to be safe.

Supposedly the Coast Guard has been notified, for whatever that is worth!!!

There will be $Millions$ of dollars worth of boats in Georgetown this week for the Governors Cup…Stay tuned!!!

Called the CG this AM and it is on the to do list as soon as the weather subsides today. Jim I didn’t report 7, just 12 and they said 14 is off station.

Yea for sure! That whole run from winyah to bulls is dangerous and the run out to the jetties. I am new to winyah and am about ready to give up on it and for dang sure not at night…

I heard through grape vine that a third boat may have hit buoy. Said to have been one of the smaller boats that fished the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tourney on Thursday am??? Any other hear say?

Just for the hell of it, I called Congressman Tom Rice’s office in DC.
His aide was not aware of the issue but he promised that the issue would be looked into.

Update…Rice’s office called back. Coast Guard repaired #12, had no report of any other light out or any boats being damaged.

Bull****, I called and reported the lights on Monday or Tuesday. They told me as soon as the weather lifted they would be fixing both of them.

Light still out on red about midway the south jetty as of Sunday am, not sure which #

REd #12 & #8 were out Monday AM. I saw it a few weeks ago and remembered.
