Wanna explain the increase in turkey population.
Over first year after purchasing this property, only one lone hen with 4 cameras out with feeders. Neighbor that borders me has 140 acres and has seen very few in years.
Removing 35 plus coons and dozen possums, it is paying off. Sunday evening hunt I had 8 turkeys come out and son had a dozen in front of him, and this was with no bait out.
Neighbor gave kudos regarding this, as he is seeing turkeys on his property as well.
Good job on DRN opening season year long due to these nest raiders wiping out the turkey population.
From what I have heard, the drop in fur prices years ago contributed to the huge increase in coon populations.
BTW, have 3500’ of flowing. creek running through property. That equals lots of coons…and neighbor has spring fed 11 acre pond.
