The prices for these things are stupid high. My squadron is looking at buying or making a wood engraved/etched 24" diameter sign to hang in our lobby. Can anybody or know a friend that can do the below in color a piece of wood.

Your best bet is going to be having someone laser engrave it, and then hand paint it after the fact. I could probably help you with the wood (a good grade maple plywood would probably work).
We have a CNC router at the cabinet shop, but this isn’t something we are set up for, and the amount of time it would take to do this right would make it way too cost prohibitive. But, someone with a laser engraver could do it rather predictably, especially since you’re having it painted.
Many trophy shops have laser engravers, and some of them can probably work using a LARGE jpg image of your symbol. I had one in Raleigh do a laser engraving of my son after he was born (his face, smiling) from an actual photograph. Turned out incredible.

If you are in Chas. there is a shop on Cross County Road, the place is something Stencils but the guy in there makes all kind of things plaque ect… out of wood and plastics. I saw a couple Gamecock baseball world series plaque and they were pretty nice.
Thank you all for the advise.
