It could be they don’t actually know of any employment opportunities right now. What are your qualifications, education. Where do you live and how far are you willing to travel to a job? Check out the state jobs website. http://www.sc.gov/Pages/search.aspx?q=jobs

Are you willing to leave the area? There are jobs to be had. I have been a recruiter for a couple of government agencies over the last 25 years. The rub comes when you tell people that the jobs that are hiring are not in the local area and require a relocation. Most simply say “no thanks” and walk away. Try www.usajobs.gov. That is the primary website for jobs in the federal government. I also pulled up www.lowcountryhelpwanted.com after hearing the radio ad. They had quite a few jobs posted.
Congress and the Senate are eyeing the immigration bill which will create positions for 10,000 new Border Patrol Agents, which is a great job and where I started. But those positions will be on the Southern Border i.e. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. The closest station to Charleston is in Jaxonville, FL. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has offices here in Charleston, but are currently on a hiring freeze. That’s all I know of.

Maybe you'll get better results hitting the pavement and submitting resume's instead of posting on a fishing site.
Wasn’t trying to be snooty if I came off like that, but since was taken that way the response was more than expected. Funny how that works. I was just commenting that the posts Ive seen previously regarding such a topic they always received quite a turnout.
And yes,ive tried the websites(to which anywhere from 2-5% turn out) and I have hit the pavement. So, thought I would try to hit anyone up here.
Thanks for the responses I got, I will figure out how to pull my post and stick to fishing.
Good honest post leave it up.Check with charleston County.org.
