Working Girl 7/12

Headed straight out yesterday and dropped lines by 7:30 in 180ft. We stayed over some good bottom for quite some time but just picked at the cudas and dolphin. All the bait was just sitting down low and didn’t seem to want to come up. Took a chance and pushed-out towards the 226, then over towards the 380. Saw a sail free jump in about 400ft of water behind us, turned and went 1 for 1. Actually we had flipper lead us right to the sail. Didn’t see to much life until we turned to come back in from the deep. A few good color changes, little bit of weeds, then in the middle of nowhere a lot of bait(and flipper). Even though it was the angler’s first billfish, the fish stayed in the water the whole time…the angler did go swimming in shem. Slow fishing, but the sail made the day.

Johnny said he caught enough sails in his day…so he passed it on.

At least he swam where there aren’t any sharks…

Had a great time with a good group of guys…lots of fishing stories

I would not bet on that.

I would be more scared of the cuda’s.

Ive seen Bull Sharks in Shem Creeek, hanging by the fish cleaning stations.

Is the swim an initiation for getting your first billfish?
