Went out yesterday to run the boat and help out a friend in the Stono. The water is BLACK, looks like the water up the Ashley by the plantations…and COLD.
Was debating trying the Stono today, but worried about wasting my time…will the bite be on with the dark water? What colors to present in the dark water?

What better way to waste time than fishing. The color of the water wouldn’t bother me as much as the salinity and temp. I like dark colored topwater baits in dark water. Soft plastics, I like something with a dark body but a bright colored tail or head. If you want to throw something with a flash, I like gold in darker water.

Well, I guess “wasting my time” was the wrong phrase…I don’t like fishing when the odds are heavily against me.

Then I’d recommend an aquarium.

Water was dark, cold (71) and running hard. Managed 3 flounder and two slot reds on Zman Paddlers in various colors, from electric chicken to black with chartreuse tail.

Yea its worth it to try! LOl That’s like asking to fish or not to fish…what a silly question 
They did’t all just up and leave just might have to change tactics or different approaches …well at least that’s what I did and it worked a little. Good fishing too on those arties
