We are going out to Seabrook in a few weeks and I was going to rent a slip at Bohickett. My only issue is I am not willing to pay $200 to have Bohickett put my boat in the water and take it out again. I was thinking about putting in at Cherry Point, leaving the truck on Friday and picking it back up on Sunday. I know I could shuttle the truck back to Seabrook but we are going to be there with friends from out of town and I don’t want to take up their vacation time dealing with shuttling my truck/boat. I have a 10 year old Tacoma and a Competitor trailer for a 16 flats boat, so it isn’t a 100k package by any means but i still don’t want it stolen. I am not familiar with that landing at all so any advice would be appreciated. Just as a reference I would not think twice about doing this at Wapoo or Folly landing i know people have had trailers stolen from there. I have a hitch lock, trailer lock, and I was going to chain the trailer axle to a cement block. Thanks in advance.
Cherry Point is not as bad as it used to be…but still take all precautions available and just don’t worry about it. Back the trailer in all the way to the pilings in the ground, and lock her up tight. I’ve also seen a guy out there with a hammer drill one time, he drilled a hole in a piling (can’t remember where or I’d tell you to use it) and ran a bike cable lock through the hole and then chained his trailer to the cable. Make sure the truck isn’t showing anything worth stealing on the inside and you’ll probably be fine.

You maybe able to ask the guys at cherry point seafood or the greens docks and rent a parking place from them? I would think that would be better than leaving your rig at the landing.
