Just back from the Abaco’s on board my friends 48’ Viking sport isher. We left Miami two days before Isaac got there and were crossing for about 15 hours on 6-8 foot seas. We kept getting hit by the storms outer bands and it was so rainy and rough that we hardly fished at all. We did hang one Barracuda while trolling across the banks. The islands were beautiful but deserted. After arrivi:sunglasses:ng in Green Turtle Cay, we were told that most of the islanders and their boats had evacuated. What a trip…we’ve been promised a free week to make up for the lousy weather if we want to fly to the islands in the spring. Lessons learned!
Sounds fun. You be hard pressed to see me in 6-8’s… especially making the crossing
