I’ve done that before. Saw one of my trotline floats swimming away and thought I had a huge catfish on that end of it, only to discover it was actually about an 8’ gator. He got to keep that last drop… I cut it off of the main line, but I wasn’t in a kayak either. Scared the BEjesus out of me at first.
