Wanted: Small generator for gigging.
Have all kinds of stuff to trade from fishing gear. camping gear, hunting stuff, etc. Lemme know.
what kind of money are you looking at? for $79 you can pick up the piece of chit Harbor Freight 800w generator and use it for a season or two if you are lucky…for around $800 I would recommend going with something like a run quiet like Yamaha or Honda…

trust me, I run nothing that I value on the cheap-o Harbor Freight generator…but Baitman and I did use it for a couple of shrimping seasons to run the lights…plus used on a few camping trips…worth every penny of that $79…but if I was depending on it for something then yes, put the money into a good one…and if you run across a BOGO then I’ll take the other one off your hands!

Where are these $79 generators? Is it a store only deal? Sounds like a good gigging generator. Not worried about amps swinging on lights.

The Harbor Frieght ones rock…80 bucks and you can get a 2 year warranty for another 15.00 bucks. They are two stroke and sound like a weedeater running. I put an exhaust pipe off of a moped on mine and its really quite now. First thing to do if you get one though is change the cheapo spark plug with one a little nicer. I’ve had mine for 4 years with no problems at all.
We have one too…the night we were out there alongside bonzo and baitman we pretty much “drowned out the crowd”. I pita thick rubber mat under ours and it seems to help with noise

baitman said if he threw it in the water it would make it real quiet…and palmettotrooper, wish I’d have checked into the extended warranty and changed the spark plug like you said…mine is about to crap out but after 3 years of use I guess I’m pretty satisfied…
