I am looking for a good reliable 1st vehicle for my son ( High School Senior ) . Of course he wants the MacDaddy pick up truck but I am looking more for less expensive small truck or car that we could get for him. Craiglists and internet have too many scammers so was hoping someone on this site might have something or know someone. Will look at all options.

Guys thanks for the replies. Maybe I should have added that HIS budget is $ 2500 - $ 3000. He has been trying to save and I told him I would cover his insurance and misc once he found the vehicle. He has been working as a dock hand at Ripley Light Yacht Club for past 2 years, so he is dedicated to getting a vehicle and willing to work for it.

Not sure your timeline, but I will have a 2001 Tahoe for sale in February. It has 200k miles on it but has been well taken care of and has zero problems. It has newer (I think LTZ) Chevy wheels on it. This vehicle was loaded for it’s time…leather, heated seats, blah blah blah. It has an aftermarket, flip-up radio/cd/dvd player. I have not priced it, but probably looking for around $3500. If that fits the bill, shoot me and email or PM.

I have a 1988 F150 short bed for sale. It was completely restored, and looks like new. Engine and transmission completely rebuilt, with 60,000 miles on both. New interior including dash, carpet, trim pieces, seat cover, etc. All door panels taken off and redone. New Ford Factory windshield. New weather stripping all around. New chrome rear view mirror.
Truck has new breaks, new fuel pump, distributer, rotor, coils, wires, etc… Basically everything was done to this truck with an open checkbook. It sits with new rims and new 31" tires. With tires and rims its $4900. If you want the factory rims and tires (good shape) then $4000 will sell it. I have put in about $9000 into this truck in the last year.

It looks better in person. There is so much done to this truck. Inline 6, Mazda transmission. So many new parts, and have receipts for all of it. Most have a lifetime warranty.
