X-raps: how used, to catch what?

Tell me how you use the X-rap and what you’re catching with it - - I have had one trout slash at it and break off. It looks like it ought to catch fish.
And; anybody tried the new walk-the-dog lures that work just under the surface; bought one but haven’t used it yet.
BTW, I don’t work for a tackle mfg or store. . . this is not a disguised advertisement for Rapala; they don’t need me.
And while we are at it, that Gabby soft lure by C&W, looks like a crawfish . . . that thing wiggles if you just look at it. They say bottom fish it slow. I casted it up under a dock and it skips on the water like a flat rock, got way up under the dock, and hung up!
I’ll be trying all these; anybody doing any good with them, please let me know,

x-rap= fat trout… cast upcurrent of target area, reel slack in, jerk with tip down a few times to get lure into strike zone, let drift a few feet, snap tip down… repeat, if no bites, move
