XP 21 Sea Hunt with 150 yammy

I first saw the rig at the last boat show and liked the way it looked.I visualized myself sitting in a nice comfy chair with a trolling motor cruising around like somebody that knew what He was doing.I bought the rig and added a Min Kota 80lb loaded trolling motor and a new remote 8ft power pole.Man I was in hog heaven move over big guys i am here.First I had to learn how to use the trolling motor so i put the boat in and got in the nice bow seat and hit the go button. The motor took off at high speed right towards a neighbors dock.Talk about panic I had no clue how to stop the (**() thing.Dock coming up and me with this thing hanging on my neck.Got lucky and hit the right button and the boat did a 360 almost slid me off the seat.Sat for a minute and looked at the remote and finally figured it out.Messed around and got pretty good moving around the creek.First trip alone to folly I worked a long bank and it was outstanding.Free fishing no gas used. The XP 21 is a knock off of a pathfinder.I have found nothing i do not like about this boat.Plenty of storage and it rides dry.The 150 pushes me along trimmed up around 45.better gas mileage than the 225 i had by far.I especially like the bait bucket in the floor idea.Shrimp net out of the way and easy to reach. The two bait wells are very good except you have to get on your knees to stick the overflow tube in the hole.It is hard to get to at least for me.The reverse seats are perfect.I bought a 100qt cooler from K mart and it fits perfect under the seat.it is for food and drinks only.I bring no fish home.I wanted a bimini top on this boat so i can get under docks and work small creeks. The trussel at rantowles area especially. All and all I love the new rig and suggest if you need a new rig get this one.:stuck_out_tongue: Forgot to mention the storage compartments have a fold down latch that is very hard for me to open with fat weak fingers .I put a wire tie loop on them and now no problem.Stick finger in loop and lift.

glad you got something comfortable and enjoyable for you to fish out of! now that trolling motor accident, that i would have loved to see, lol.

Scared the snot out of me.The current had pulled me down the creek and i did not pay attention where i was.I look up and the dock is about 30 feet from me and i am heading right for it.All I see is banged up new boat.Hit that hand held remote and it spun me around real fast.LOL My reflexes really suck.No way i can jump up and get to the engine and crank it and back up.I have had to learn I am an old fart.

Would love to see a pic of your boat.

I’ve had an XP21 with a 150 going on 3 years. Big fan of the boat. Have put over 400 hours on it. It has held up well. Rides dry, lots of storage and can get pretty skinny. If I were boat shopping I’d get the same thing all over again, with an upgrade to a leaning post.

I opened the floor locker and the 5 gal bucket was full of water? Pulled the bucket and net out and dumped the water.looked under the bucket at the floor and it had a lot of water in it.i see holes drilled in the floor but I turned on the bilge and the water never moved. Will check with Seels later this week.
