y-73 area

was out yesterday to do some bottom fishing. got a limit of vermillion tangled with a mess of amber jacks, and barracudas who would come out from under the boat at the last second and take Their share…the ocean was a little rougher than reported no way was it 2-3 @ 11sec. on a side note did anyone else see the caravan of navy vessels heading south? looked like a carrier of some sort and a bunch of destroyers. didn’t see any numbers or US flags either. their were also helicopters kinda keeping a perimiter. just thought it strange no markings on the ships.

The same group came by us at the north hole, one of the choppers checked us out pretty close. We ended up with 30 nice vermillion, 20 large triggers, 5 reds up to 20 lbs. Lost 8-10 rigs I think to grouper we could not pull away from their holes. Rough seas, especially late when the wind picked up.

That’s a good reason to keep an AR-15 on your boat. You could have been our first line of defense!

Nice report by the way.

Mike…anytime you catch an AJ, keep one and call me or Kevin. Kevin would love to have it.
